- Recognize and acknowledge your feelings:
It’s okay to feel doubtful. Acknowledge your feelings and share them with God.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
- Seek God’s presence:
Spend time in prayer and meditation to connect with God.
Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
- Surround yourself with positive influences:
Build relationships with supportive people who encourage and uplift you.
Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
- Focus on your strengths:
Identify your talents and abilities. Celebrate your accomplishments.
Exodus 35:35 “He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers.”
- Practice gratitude:
Focus on the blessings in your life. Express gratitude to God.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
- Remember God’s love for you:
Remind yourself of God’s unconditional love and acceptance.
Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- Seek professional help if needed:
If self-doubt is significantly impacting your life, consider talking to a counsellor, therapist, trusted Christian friend, or Pastor.
Proverbs 15:22 “Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success.”
- Trust in God’s plan:
Remember that God has a plan for your life, and He will equip you with the strength and guidance you need to fulfill it.
Proverbs 16:9 “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.”
Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
- Replace negative thoughts with Scripture:
When self-doubt creeps in, counter it with affirmations from the Bible.
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things.”
- Focus on serving others:
Helping those in need can shift your focus from yourself to God’s work.
James 1:22 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
- Remember that even great people of faith struggled with doubt:
The Bible is full of stories of people who felt ineligible and unfit for their purpose, but they ultimately found faith and strength through Him.
